REPORT: Woodstock 50 Lineup to Feature Robert Plant
Robert Plant is the latest legendary artist to be reportedly booked for Woodstock 50.
Variety reports that Plant, along with a number of different artists including The Black Keys, The Raconteurs and Greta Van Fleet have been booked for the 50th-anniversary festival, which is being organized by Woodstock co-founder Michael Lang.
Also reportedly scheduled for Woodstock 50 are Jay-Z, Run the Jewels, Gary Clark Jr., Cage the Elephant, Margo Price, Sturgill Simpson, Portugal the Man, Dawes, the Lumineers, Bishop Briggs, Pussy Riot, Courtney Barnett and Dorothy. Reportedly finalizing their appearances are Halsey, Miley Cyrus, Janelle Monae and Kacey Musgraves.
This report comes just days after Billboard reported Santana, Dead & Company, The Killers, Imagine Dragons, and Chance The Rapper were booked for the festival.
Earlier this week, there were rumors of financial issues already affecting Woodstock 50 as some artists booked had not been paid in full yet. Due to Woodstock 50 not partnering with a major promoter live Live Nation or AEG, the various agencies representing the artists on the bill are requiring being paid in full before the festival. However, as of Monday night (March 4), all artists on the bill have been paid in full.
Lang told Billboard that the rest of the lineup, which will feature over 80 artists from a variety of genres, will be announced “within the next couple of weeks” and that fans can expect “a once in a lifetime event.”
So far, there’s no confirmation as to when tickets for Woodstock 50 will go on sale. The festival is taking place August 16-18 in Watkins Glen, N.Y.
