“Our rock and roll brother, Eddie Money, was supposed to be here tonight. He had a detour into the hospital before the show,” Springfield said to the crowd before leading them into a “Get Well, Eddie” chant. Springfield then playfully introed his performance of “Two Tickets to Paradise” with, “Now we’re going to butcher one of Eddie’s songs in celebration of him getting well soon.”
Money’s Twitter then thanked Springfield for the tribute saying, “Eddie and The Money Family cannot thank @rickspringfield, his band, crew and management enough for such a special tribute. We are truly blessed to have such great friends that we love, and that love Eddie. We love you guys!”
