Alice Cooper Says ‘Vile’ Outtakes from ‘Wayne’s World’ Exist
Alice Cooper’s cameo in Wayne’s World might just be the best rock cameo in film history, but there’s more to the infamous “We’re not worthy!” scene than fans have seen.
In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Cooper said, “If you would’ve heard the outtakes on the ‘We’re not worthy!’ scene, it went on for about seven or eight minutes, and it got vile. It just got vile! I guarantee you Mike [Myers] or [producer] Lorne Michaels has them, but if that ever gets out, I’m not in trouble, they are.”
It certainly makes you wonder just what Myers and Dana Carvey said to make the Godfather of Shock Rock react like that! Fingers crossed that maybe they’ll be included in a future anniversary release…or somehow leak.
Cooper also revealed that during the filming of Wayne’s World, much of the dialogue was ad-libbed. After being given six pages of a script about two hours before filming, Cooper said, “I memorized about a quarter of it and just riffed on the rest of it.”
Speaking of films, while he doesn’t have a biopic in the works, Cooper said if there was ever a biopic about his life, “Johnny would be the best guy to play me. He knows me well enough where he could imitate me pretty well.”
Cooper and Depp are close friends, with Depp serving as guitarist in the Hollywood Vampires along with Joe Perry. However, Depp and Cooper first met in 2012 when Cooper made a cameo appearance in the film Dark Shadows.
