Sunday, September 24 was the "Unofficial Roast" of WCSX's Screamin Scott at Freddy's bar and grill. The  Screamin Scott roast has a lineup of some of the area's best local comics that will bust me up on stage throughout the afternoon. Local hometown comics like Ref Ledbetter, Tonya Murray, Penny Candy, Justin Stanek, Ben Cheek,  "Turbo"- Tim Corby, and special guest roasters. Friends for a donation, went on stage and roast me over the coals knowing what a great guy I am. Including, Cat Hanson.  Donations went to 4 Paws and 1 Heart funding medical treatment for stray, abandoned, and abused animals.

Great Live Local Bands Rocked The Day Away

The roast included some great local Detroit music, including "Local Joe", "86 Noodles", "Mob Opera", "Set-N-Stone", and a surprise band "Southern Fried Rock Band." The fun started at noon on Sunday and went on till 8 pm. I had never been roasted before. Let me tell you the comics did their homework on me. A lot of surprises the whole day long. Was great to see all my friends come out for laughs and to help an area charity.

What Makes A Good Roast?

Every roast begins with an introduction by a roast host, with jokes about the person in question. That person introduces each roaster comic, who takes turns adding insults or jokes about the honoree. This particular roast is a bit different for me since I'm the one being roasted! Comics dug deep into my history of different jobs over the years. Bars and roller rinks, and dating life that made everyone in the audience laugh out loud.

I have been a part of a few roasts in my years... Most recently Vinny Dombrowski, my good friend and the lead singer of the band Sponge. This is my first time taking one for the team. All jokes were good fun.
