Trent Reznor celebrates his birthday today (May 17), and when he started Nine Inch Nails in 1988, the last thing he likely expected was to become was an Academy Award winner.
Along with Atticus Ross, Reznor won has won two the Oscars for Best Original Music Score for 2010's The Social Network and 2020's Soul. Reznor and Ross are part of a unique club of popular musicians that have also won Academy Awards.
