Pine Knob Lineup for 2023
March 2023 Update (More shows added below)
Back in May Pine Knob reverted back to its original name and has been on a hot run ever since. And 2023 is looking even brighter! It has been an amazing year for Pine Knob. They changed their name back to rave reviews. Nobody liked to call it DTE Energy Music Theater. T-shirts were sold saying “I Still Call it Pine Knob” (Which they may be sad about now that the name is back). Pine Knob was also ranked #1 for top Amphitheater by Pollstar’s 2022 Year-End Rankings.
Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Pine Knob filled the Summer with some amazing artists. Just some of the amazing artists to play during the 2022 season included: Chicago, Backstreet Boys, Alice in Chains, Scorpions and White Snake, Wu-Tang Clan and Nas, The Black Keys, Stevie Nicks, Kid Rock, Shinedown, and the RIFF FEST with Disturbed.
Historical Pine Knob
Pine Knob held its first concert on June 25th, 1972 with David Cassidy. Pine Knob has been home to some of the most historic concerts of all time. Concerts like Kiss with the Blue Oyster Cult in July of 1974. Or the legendary Bob Seger and Bruce Springsteen concert in September of 78. Aerosmith 1998 filmed a performance of “I don’t want to miss a thing” (I was twenty years old when I went to this concert). After many years of great shows, the name was changed to DTE Energy Music Theater in 2001. The naming deal expired and reverted back to Pine Knob along with a new vintage-style logo.
And Pine Knob is ready for the next big summer of 2023. They already have some great shows lined up and the schedule will only grow as we get further into 2023. Here are some of the concerts and artists planned for 2023.
One such show is an epic presentation from WCSX. The Bret Michaels Parti-Gras coming this July 13th, 2023. Stay tuned to WCSX 94.7 for more details.
