Where to spend New Year’s Eve in Michigan

What a year it has been and I can’t wait to see what next year brings. There are plenty of places in Michigan to spend New Year’s Eve. What are you looking forward to most in 2023? Do you have any New Year’s resolutions for the New Year?  According to michigan.org, these are some of the best places to be on New Year’s Eve in Michigan.

• 1. New Year's Eve Ball Drop – Marquette

  In Marquette, crowds will gather to see the ball drop from Savings Bank Building. The gathering on Washington Street and Front Street will watch the ball lower on the 12th strike.

• 2. CherryT Ball Drop – Traverse City

  Of course, the city known for cherries would have a cherry-themed ball drop. Ring in the New Year as a giant cherry descends as the year ends in Traverse City.

• 3. Torchlight Parade – Harbor Springs

  I would rather be inside my warm home watching Die Hard than ski but to each their own! If you love skiing and want a great place to be on New Year’s Eve then look no further than Nub’s Nob Ski Resort in Harbor Springs. Skiers shoot down making light displays and the whole event is free of charge. 

• 4. New Year's Eve Ball Drop in Downtown Ludington – Ludington

  More balls to drop! A massive 6000 led lit ball will drop in Downtown Ludington followed by fireworks. 

• 5. New Year's Eve Ballroom Bashes – Grand Rapids

  Grand Rapids always has something going on and New Year’s Eve is no exception. Four hotel ballrooms will be hosting the huge Ballroom Bashes throughout Grand Rapids.  The whole event spans from the Amway Grand Plaza to the JW Marriott Grand Rapids to the Downtown Courtyard by Marriott.

• 6. New Year's Eve Wine Dinner – Suttons Bay

  Do you want a really fancy night out on New Year’s Eve? Well, how about at the Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay? You will be dining at one incredibly luxurious and fancy inn. You’ll probably want to dress up a little for this event. 

• 7. New Year's Eve at the Island - Island Lake Resort & Casino in Harris

• 8. New Year's Eve - Double JJ Resort in Rothbury
