Congratulations, Northville!  You are the WCSX City of the Week! There's always something fun going on in the city of Northville. The Northville downtown area is charming and often the central location for the city's events.  Northville also has some amazing farms.  Guernsey Farm Dairy calls Northville home. Parmenter's Northville Cider Mill and Maybury Farm are also Northville treasures.

If you haven't checked it out already, then put a rush on it.  I'm talking about the Maple Syrup Tours at Maybury Farm in the city of Northville.  March 30th is the final day to take the Maple Syrup Tour for 2024. Maybury Farms annual Eggstravaganza is April 6th from 10am-1pm. Maybury Farm is your first amazing thing to do in the city of Northville.

3) Guernsey Farm Dairy

4) Northville Garden Walk

5) The Northville Victorian Festival

Click on the links to find out more about these amazing things happening in Northville. Obviously, Northville has more than 5 amazing things.  Check out Joel's notes to learn about more unique and incredible places that Northville has to offer.  Scroll down to check out our pictures from Northville.

City of Northville: Joel's Notes

Usually my first stop in Northville is the Mill Race Historical Village. It’s like downtown Little House On The Prairie.  They have an 1800's Cady Inn, Church, Weaver cottages, Historic Yerkes & Hunter’s houses, The JM Mead General Store, and Hirsh Blacksmith Shop. It’s all built along a very beautiful, rippling creek!  Explore it when you get the chance!

I highly recommend Café Mariani of Northville Omelette & Waffle Café!  They serve Northville’s very own Guernsey Farms Dairy chocolate milk! I think it's the best chocolate milk on the market today, BTW!  It’s so popular that they had just run out of it- so get there and get yours early! I took an order of chili to go and it was really good!

The guys at Mark’s Outdoor Power Equipment are ready to rock! I stopped in for a couple bolts I need for the handle of my lawn mower. I want a big Toro “zero turn” riding lawn mower someday. I could mow my front yard in 18 seconds! Thanks to General Manager,  Bradley, and his guys, Lee and Steve rockin' with WCSX!

I am SO glad that I finally visited The Wagon Wheel Lounge! THIS is my kinda place!  It’s really old. Check out that vintage neon sign work out front! It's a bit dark when you walk in until your eyes get adjusted. It’s been a long time since I was in a good ol’ place like that!

Owner of The Wagon Wheel Lounge, Charlie, happened to be sitting right at the bar around lunchtime. Charlie welcomed me and told me that the Wagon Wheel Lounge had been in his family his whole life, and he’s been working in the city of Northville at the Wagon Wheel for over 50 years!

Charlie also shared some history of The Wagon Wheel. The establishment has been a hotel, got burned down, rebuilt, is haunted (not sure if Charlie was joking or not!), and a getaway for legendary Detroit Heavyweight Boxing Champion, Joe Louis! Big Thanks to Charlie, Becky, Kyle and Norm! They even have a Norm that sits at the bar.

On my way of out town, I stopped at The Lloyd H. Green American Legion Post #147There were no vets “home” to thank when I was there, so I went out on the front lawn by their symbolic cannon: 3 inch U. S. ARTILLERY, baby! I looked toward the U.S. flagpole as I stood for moment of silence in their honor.

The city of Northville Memorial Day Parade is very special and will be held this year on Monday May 27th at 10am on Main Street. The same day they also hold an Honor Guard Ceremony at 11am at Rural Hill Cemetery.

Say goodbye to Northville Downs. Demolition has begun. Northville Downs was Michigan's last horseracing track.

During cider season, on Wednesdays and weekends, you can come and look through their viewing gate and see the cider being pressed.

Many of the homes were built for Northville’s original settlers! Talk about some "Oh Wow!" houses. Northville does a great job of honoring and caring for their history.

The Pride of Northville: The Wagon Wheel Lounge! The Wagon Wheel has been a historic landmark for generations. They sell good old beers, burgers, and booze! Owner Charlie, Becky, Kyle, and Norm. Joel had a BLAST with them and he assures us that you will too! Advice from Joel: "Ask them about the time Joe Louis....you gotta ask them!"
