I love going out to the Michigan Antique Festival in Davisburg. First off, it’s massive. Second, they have unique items that you can’t buy on the internet. Third, many of the sellers are family or friends who work together to sell their items and crafts. The Fall Michigan Antique Festival is no exception, plus they’ve got fun Halloween stuff.
The People Behind The Items at The Fall Michigan Antique Festival
One of the most fascinating people I met this time around was George. George has a giant, vintage Pine Knob sign and a great story to go with it. A friend of George’s worked at Pine Knob years ago and he “appropriated” the sign when he left. The sign actually has two pieces. George bought one part from his friend but doesn’t know what happened to the other half. Scroll down to check out the sign. he also has a retro Pine Knob staff rainjacket!
I met Greg and his brother, Rob. They travel to four or five shows a year, primarily Michigan Antique Festivals. They bring their motorhome, sell vintage road signs and other items, and spend time together while making some extra money.
I met Laurel and Jessica, a mother-and-daughter team who knit items and bring them to a handful of shows a year. I love the Michigan feels of these ladies sharing a mutual love of crafting and spending time together.
Running into WCSX Friends
Mike takes old propane tanks and turns them into Halloween decorations… think metal jack-o’lanterns. I also met WCSX fans. People who listen, call in, and/or have won on my show. Dave and Teresa have seen Bob Seger 72 times including his last 6 shows at Pine Knob. Dave said they saw Bob for the first time in 1974 in Davison at Sherwood Forest. Scroll down to meet these people and check out some of my favorite finds at the Fall Michigan Antique Festival in Davisburg!
