Detroit Lions vs Buffalo Bills showdown brings out Anxious Football Fans & 94.7 WCSX

In the catalog of classic rock, there are dozens upon dozens of songs that embody and characterize the intensity and grit of sports and competition. Some of these songs include; Queen-We will rock you/We are the Champions, Survivors-Eye of the tiger, or even Europe-The Final Countdown. If there was one song that took on the feeling of the 60,000 plus who packed Ford Field in Detroit to watch the (12 win) Detroit Lions take on the (10 win) Buffalo Bills, that song would have been the 1973 Electric Light Orchestra hit "Showdown." Indeed, for many inside the stadium and media outlets both local and national, this game has been considered a marquee showdown and an early showing for what we might see in this year's Super Bowl in February. The Detroit Lions and Quarterback Jared Goff have been riding a winning streak that has never been seen in the storied history of the team's franchise. On the other side the Buffalo Bills and Quarterback Josh Allen are looking at returning to the top of their conference and make their statement as they are the best team and MVP contender in not only the AFC but in all the NFL. The Detroit Lions have had plenty of support from their fans as every home game has been a sell out with tickets on the secondary market fetching as much as $400 just for standing room only. Those lucky enough to attend a game in person to root for the Detroit Lions have anxiously waited for gameday with many showing up hours ahead of time to stand outside Ford Field and join in the comradery of the other diehard fans. With the latest successes of the Detroit Lions capturing the attention of the media, the Lions have played host to many National broadcasts pregame and postgame specials. No exception was made for this matchup as the colleagues and crew of CBS Sports "NFL Today" show came to the Motor City for the primetime bout to hear from fans and analyze the keys to the game. 94.7 WCSX was in the thick of all the action as Detroit Lions gameday wouldn't be complete without walking past and paying a visit to the Elwood Bar & Grill right across the street from Ford Field. The WCSX promo team had their whole day filled with giving out prizes to the Lions fans in attendance and keeping some of them dry as they awaited in the rain, snow, and even at times sleet for Ford Field to open up. A special thanks to Elwood manager Liz and her outstanding staff for letting WCSX rock with the best football fans in Detroit.
