Neil Young made his triumphant return to Pine Knob Music Theatre for the first time since 2015 and played at a near-sellout concert. The 78-year-old rocker wasn't alone for this trip as his Love Earth 2024 tour was also supported by longtime band Crazy Horse. As the gates opened shortly after 5:30 pm, thousands of concertgoers found themselves already waiting in line with temps in the upper 80s to find their "Sweet Spot" on the hill and take in what was to be a memorable performance from the legendary rocker.

The nearly two-hour performance from Neil Young and Crazy Horse featured an acoustic and electric set, treating the fans in attendance with a blend of hit after hit and performances of the aforementioned Love Earth album.

94.7 WCSX was on hand to "Keep on Rockin' in the Free World" and kick off the unofficial start of summer with a dose of classic rock, courtesy of the mega star himself, Neil Young. The Setlist from the show (As seen below) left fans, including this author, wanting plenty more of the icons catalog to be played. With an eclectic collection of songs that stretches over 50 years it's no wonder that when the "Godfather of Grunge" comes to town, fans will always show up hoping to hear their favorite hits played as if they were listening to them again for the first time.

This author was among many hoping to hear just one more song from Neil Young as the 11 pm curfew quickly approached. It's a sentiment that was echoed by many who made their way off the grounds of Pine Knob and back to their vehicles; with an artist like Mr. Young, he always leaves you wanting more. It's this sentiment that leaves 94.7 WCSX yearning for his next concert. We can't wait to see you again, Neil. Until then, we will have to enjoy the memories from this tour and pass the time trying to rank the 79 best songs from the storied career of Neil Young.
