Megan Murphy of WCSX and these superfans are ready for "The NFL Draft" and "a draft" here at The Elwood.

The 2024 NFL Draft finally arrived on the streets of the Motor City, and fans from all 32 NFL teams showcased their love for this once-in-a-lifetime event. The main stage where over 250 college prospects would dream of hearing their name called by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to be drafted into the NFL was at Campus Martius.

For the hundreds of thousands who made their way down to the City of Detroit for the 2024 NFL Draft (Approximately 700,000), the party was a city-wide event with plenty of draft activities and experiences taking place in Hart Plaza, Grand Circus Park, and even up and down Woodward Avenue, from the Renaissance Center to the cross streets of Comerica Park and Ford Field.

Within those cross streets of Ford Field and Comerica Park sits the Elwood Bar & Grill. It was at the Elwood that 94.7 WCSX and DJ Megan Murphy made every fanbase feel welcomed (yes, even those fans who wear a wedge of cheese on their heads) and displayed plenty of Motown hospitality. From concert tickets to limited edition station swag to full menus and live coverage, 94.7 WCSX and The Elwood made sure that for those in attendance, the 2024 NFL Draft was a memorable one.

If it is sure to be a once-in-a-lifetime event, the City of Detroit and all who attended made it quite indelible. From shattering attendance records to major economic impact, the NFL draft for 2025 (in Green Bay, WI) will have plenty to live up to. If ever given the opportunity again, Detroit and all of us NFL fans will be ready to ring the bell and let it be known that “It ain’t no party like a Detroit party because a Detroit party don’t stop.”

Of course, a special event like the 2024 NFL Draft doesn’t come to be a success without countless people working together and countless hours being invested. A special thanks to everyone who made it a success, from all of the security personnel, staff of the NFL, city of Detroit workers, and those on staff at the Elwood who served up every hungry NFL Draft fan into the late rounds and hours of the night.

Now that some new players have been drafted by the Detroit Lions, there’s only one thing left to say: “Forward Down the Field.”
