    Harper Woods was named after a prominent Detroiter, Walter Harper.

  • Pumpkin What?

    Kelly Road was known as Pumpkin Hook Road way back in 1850!

  • Remember that Mall?

    Eastland Mall was located in Harper Woods from 1957 and closed in 2021. Demolition started in 2022.

  • Interstate Highway!

    I-94 runs directly through Harper Woods.

  • What school did you go to?

    Harper Woods is home to four high schools- Lutheran East, Notre Dame, Bishop Gallagher, and Harper Woods High School.
