  Flat Rock was named after the smooth stones along the Huron River.

• Mustang Run!

  Flat Rock is home of the Ford Mustang! The Ford Mustang Assembly plant is in Flat Rock.

• Take Me To The River!

  Thanks to The Huron River, early Flat Rock had many flour and saw mills that were powered by the river.

• Native American History

  Flat Rock was once the site of a Native American Reservation that housed the Wyandotte, Huron and Seneca Native American tribes.

• Wanna buy a canal?

  In 1937 a group of Flat Rock investors started company to build a canal across Michigan to Lake Michigan. The company went broke before the canal was made!
