DOWNTOWN ROCHESTER SNOWGLOW
On January 14th and 15th, Rochester will be lit up with fireworks and ice! Fireworks and ice sculptures will glitter while competitive ice sculptors battle it out along West 4th Street. Oh and don’t miss the roasted marshmallows!
WINTERFEST
Winterfest will be on January 16th at the Oak Park Community Center and Ice Rink. There will be face painting, crafts, live music and FREE hot chocolate.
COLD RUSH WARREN
Another great FREE festival! Cold Rush Warren in Warren City Square, there will be ice skating, food trucks, ice sculptures, DJs and SMORES! This will be on January 22nd.
WINTER CARNIVAL
A winter magic show? Yes, please! So many events planned for the Winter Carnival at Oakland Township’s Bear Creek Nature Park. With your FREE admission and free parking, you get to enjoy so many activities. Go ice skating, penguin bowling (What’s that???), ice sculpture, crafts, photo ops, archery, and so much more! This will be taking place on February 5th.
MOTOWN WINTER BLAST
From February 18th through the 20th, Downtown Royal Oak will host the Winter Blast. Events will include ice skating, a winter slide, zip-lining and a garden featuring ice sculptors and live demonstrations. Admission and all events are FREE!
10 Things We Love About Michigan in the Winter
Skiing, sledding and winter activities: As mentioned in the snow section of this post, if you love now, skiing and sledding, then Michigan is a great state to be in the winter. With so much of the white stuff, Michigan offers boundless opportunities to sled and ski all winter long.
