The Founders of Milford came from New Milford, New York

Levi Pettibone was the first land owner in the Milford area in 1827.
The first sawmill was built on Pettibone Creek in 1831 by the Ruggles Brothers
Milford became a township in 1834, an bustled with a railroad, general stores, mills and factories.
Today Milford retains its Victorian look downtown and new construction is booming in the township.
