GN’R, U2 Top Mid-Year Tour Revenue List
Guns N’ Roses, U2, Justin Bieber, Metallica and Depeche Mode are among the top tours of 2017 so far, according to the trade magazine Pollstar.
GNR’s “Not In This Lifetime” reunion tour ranked No. 1, grossing $151.5 million at the box office during the first half of the year and is the only tour that’s sold more than a million tickets. U2 followed at $118.1 million, with Bieber third at $93.2 million, Metallica at $88 million and Depeche Mode at $68.2 million.
Rounding out the Top 10 were the Red Hot Chili Peppers ($60.5 million), Adele ($59 million), Ed Sheeran ($57.2 million), Eric Church ($54.5 million) and Bruno Mars ($52.7 million).
According to Pollstar, the Top 50 Worldwide tours grossed a combined $1.97 billion, just a bit behind last year’s record $1.98 billion, but total ticket sales of 23.4 million set a new record. More details can be found at Pollstar.com.
