Rami Malek continues to collect accolades for his incredible performance as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody with a win at last night’s (January 27) Screen Actor’s Guild Awards.

Malek won the award for Male Actor in a Leading Role. It was his first SAG Award win, after being previously nominated for his work on the TV series Mr. Robot.

In his speech, Malek made sure to thank Queen and Mercury and said, “I get some power from him [Mercury] that is about stepping up and living your best life, being exactly who you want to be and accomplishing everything you so desire.  And I feel that, and he allows us all to feel that. So, this is again for him.”

The next major award show for Malek and Bohemian Rhapsody is the 91st Annual Academy Awards airing live on Sunday, February 24 on ABC. Bohemian Rhapsody is up for Best Picture, while Malek is up for Best Actor in a Leading Role.  The film is also nominated for Film Editing, Sound Editing and Sound Mixing.
