You have to try really hard to mess up ice cream, but one grocery store chain is challenging flavor norms with the launch of wasabi ice cream.

The creation comes via Lidl and its new ice cream brand Vitasia Ice Cream. Lidl says this ice cream “…pairs the freshness of warming wasabi flavoring with velvety smooth ice cream and is perfect to enjoy on a hot summer afternoon or after-dinner treat.”

Not sure about wasabi ice cream being a perfect “after-dinner treat.” Perhaps, I’ll just stick to a nice cocktail instead. It’s less likely to set my mouth on fire or cause killer acid reflux. Anyway, this flavor drops in Lidl stores today (June 3), so be on the lookout for some likely very interesting reviews of this ice cream.
