Could Florence Pugh and Bill Hader Star in the Ozzy & Sharon Osbourne Biopic?
Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne still have a biopic in the works. However, they seem to be learning how long it takes to make a movie.
The couple discussed the biopic on the latest episode of The Osbournes Podcast. Ozzy bluntly said, “By the time they finish this film, I’ll be dead … I want to be alive to f—ing see it.”
Sharon added, “Movies take forever to make. Forever.”
As for who they would want to cast as them, both Sharon and Kelly Osbourne think Florence Pugh would be a great Sharon. Jack Osbourne thinks Bill Hader would make a great Ozzy, but Kelly thinks an unknown actor should play Ozzy.
What We Know About the Ozzy and Sharon Biopic
In October 2021, Variety reported Sony Pictures picked up the Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne biopic.
At the time, Variety noted, “The untitled project comes from Polygram Entertainment and will follow a biopic format centering on their decades-long bond — one that exploded to the heights of pop culture with the flagship MTV reality series ‘The Osbournes.’ Oscar nominee Lee Hall (‘Billy Elliot’) is scripting the project.”
Additionally, Sharon will have a producing role in the film along with her children, Jack and Aimee Osbourne, via Jack’s production company, Osbourne Media.
Sharon said in a statement, “Our relationship was often wild, insane, and dangerous, but it was our undying love that kept us together. We’re thrilled to partner with Sony Pictures and Polygram to bring our story to the screen.”
Talk of Ozzy and Sharon's biopic first surfaced in July 2018 in an interview Sharon gave to Variety. At that time, Sharon said of the film, “It’s going to be a tearjerker. It’s not going to be a sex-and-drugs movie at all. Ozzy is so much more than that. I would hate to be a cliché.”
