City of The Week Factoids - Rochester City of the Week

Congratulations to Clarkston: City of the Week with WCSX! According to the villageofclarkston.org, Clarkston was established in 1832. Most of the settlers came from New York and New Jersey. Jeremiah Clark established a home in 1832 and his brother Nelson settled in 1836. Nelson’s home was not built until 1839, but it still is standing today at 71 North Main Street.

The Clarkston village was named after Jeremiah Clark and Nelson around 1842.

Clarkston’s downtown has been designated a National Historical Site. Clarkston has a main street filled with shops, eateries, and various businesses. Clarkston hosts several events including concerts, parades, festivals, and an art fair.

In October, Clarkston hosts the “Taste of Clarkston”. This will be the event’s 25th year! The tastes will be amazing as they offer a diverse range of foods and offerings. And there will be live music and entertainment.
