Wendy’s New Frosty Flavor Announced And Available Soon

Wendy’s says, move over pumpkin spice; there’s a new flavor coming to town.

Fast food chain Wendy’s announced that it’s releasing a brand-new Salted Caramel Frosty flavor, which will be available nationwide starting November 12.

Wendy’s described the flavor as “rich, salty caramel perfectly balanced with Wendy’s iconic sweet & creamy Frosty treat,” adding that it’s “a spoonful of warm and cozy comfort in every chilly bite.”

There Is A Down Side To All This Happiness

 Vanilla Frosty fans, though. People magazine online reported that the new Salted Caramel flavor will replace the vanilla version, at least for a little while. Additionally, a source shared with People that the Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty, inspired by Spongebob Squarepants, will also be removed from the menu once this new flavor comes online. 

Fall Is For Pumpkin, Apples And Taco Salads?

Another news item for Wendy’s for this fall is that they are planning other favorite fall-inspired menu items, all of which will be available starting on Nov. 12.

Another of the fall menu items is a mushroom bacon cheeseburger. This funghi-forward option stacks roasted mushrooms, bacon, Muenster cheese, and creamy garlic spread on top of a beefy patty.

Now Wendy’s throws a curveball that I never saw coming. Not only can you still get Wendy’s chili, but you can also get an upgraded taco salad! The new version has a creamy salsa dressing, fire-roasted corn, tortilla strips, and chili.

How Many Wendy’s Frosty’s Have They Had Out?

Wendy’s has many Frosty flavors, including:

Chocolate Frosty: The signature flavor that’s available year-round 

Vanilla Frosty: A fan favorite that’s only available a couple of times a year 

Strawberry Frosty: A seasonal flavor that’s associated with summer 

Pumpkin Spice Frosty: A seasonal flavor that’s associated with fall 

Peppermint Frosty: A seasonal flavor that’s associated with winter 

Orange Dreamsicle Frosty: A seasonal flavor that’s associated with spring 

Triple Berry Frosty: A combination of blackberry, raspberry, and strawberry

First Wendy’s That I Went To In Michigan

Wendy’s restaurants began opening in Michigan at some point after the fast food chain’s first restaurant opened in Columbus, Ohio, on November 15, 1969. Today, there are 243 Wendy’s locations in Michigan. 

The first one that I tried was at 13 Mile and Van Dyke in Warren, Michigan. The french fries stood out, as did the chili. I just had the Wendy’s singles with everything on them. I remember how fresh-tasting the burger was and was impressed at the size of the burger.

The year was 1980, and it was something new to try out in the neighborhood. Now, I can’t wait for the new Wendy’s Salted Caramel Frosty, which is coming very soon.

• The McDLT

  The McDLT was a sandwich that was available at McDonald’s from 1984 to 1991. The sandwich consisted of a hamburger with lettuce and tomato on one side of the bun, and a hot dog with ketchup and mustard on the other side of the bun. The idea behind the sandwich was that you could eat the hot side hot and the cool side cool. Unfortunately, the sandwich was discontinued due to complaints about the styrofoam packaging that it came in.

• The Enormous Omelette Sandwich at BK

  The Enormous Omelette Sandwich was available at Burger King from 1989 to 1991. The sandwich consisted of three eggs, ham, bacon, American cheese, and mayonnaise on a sesame seed bun. The sandwich was discontinued due to poor sales.

• The BK Broiler

  The BK Broiler was available at Burger King from 1990 to 2001. The sandwich consisted of a chicken breast fillet that had been marinated in a special sauce and then grilled. It came with lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, and cheese on a sesame seed bun. The sandwich was discontinued due to poor sales.

• The Arch Deluxe

  The Arch Deluxe was a burger that was available at McDonald’s from 1996 to 2000. The burger consisted of a quarter-pound beef patty, bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and secret sauce on a sesame seed bun. The burger was discontinued due to poor sales.

• KFC Double Down

  The double down from KFC was a fan favorite when it was first introduced, and people were devastated when it was taken off the menu. The sandwich consists of two pieces of fried chicken with bacon, cheese, and sauce in between. It’s hearty, filling, and absolutely delicious. We can only hope that KFC will bring it back someday soon.

• Cini-Minis from BK

  The Cini-Minis were cinnamon rolls that were available at Burger King from 1989 to 2016. The rolls were served warm and came with a vanilla icing dipping sauce. They were discontinued due to poor sales but have since been brought back as a limited-time offer.

• Big N' Tasty from McDonalds

  The Big N’ Tasty was a burger that was available at McDonald’s from 2001 to 2006. The burger consisted of a quarter-pound beef patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, ketchup, and mayonnaise on a sesame seed bun. It was discontinued due to poor sales.

• BK BLT

  This sandwich from Burger King was a twist on the classic BLT. It featured four strips of bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on a toasted sesame seed bun. It was discontinued in 2013.

• McPizza

  This pizza from McDonald’s was a personal-sized pizza with a thin crust and various toppings like pepperoni or sausage. It was introduced in the 1980s and discontinued in the early 2000s.

• Frosty Float from Wendy's

  This refreshing treat from Wendy’s combined the chain’s signature Frosty dessert with root beer or Coca-Cola. It was available for a limited time only and has not been seen since 2009.
