Yeah I like…so what?
2019 Mitsubishi Outlander SEL S-AWC review
You know those memes that are flying around the internet where someone posts a silly statement and then says “fight me”? I feel that way when I talk about the Outlander…. I really like the looks of the Mitsubishi. Fight me bro.
I had this quirky curiosity to drive one and bugged the hell out of their people at DriveShop until they got me in one. And guess what? I like it, I really like it! Fight me.
The first thing I noticed about the Outlander was the CVT transmission – it’s seamless (trust me, a lot of the SUV’s have trouble between gears which makes for strange moments passing or going uphill…but the Outlander was perfect). And I know the Outlander is getting a little long in the tooth I think this is the sixth year of this platform but I really didn’t mind. Plenty of storage optional third row seating and just an open feel to it. It’s an incredibly comfortable design.
Something else to love about the Outlander — it’s the warranty (taken straight from the company media kit):
The Outlander comes standard with one of the industry’s leading powertrain and new vehicle warranties: 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty; 5-year/60,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty; 7-year/100,000-mile anti-corrosion/perforation limited warranty; and 5-year/unlimited mileage roadside assistance program.
This is one of the most interesting times for people purchasing a new vehicle. We’ve watched the demise of the sedan (it’ll be back), and the growth of the SUV/CUV market – so what do you buy? It’s got to be a feeling, doesn’t it?
We gravitate to vehicles that make us feel something – whether it’s safe, stimulated (see Shelby 350R) or peace of mind. In my mind the Outlander falls under that category, it’s a solid, good looking ride that I’d feel comfortable with any of my family members driving. Peace of mind.
So yeah, I really enjoyed driving the Outlander. Fight me.
