Report: Specs Howard School to Close Southfield Site
The Specs Howard School of Media Arts is about to change.
The broadcasting school is in discussions with “another highly regarded school” to take over the Specs Howard name and curriculum, according to a report by the Detroit Free Press.
The school’s Lahser Road location will close, the Free Press reports, and current students will be able to wrap up their education.
Students have received letters telling them about the ongoing plans.
“Students are still being taught, and classes are in session next week and beyond,” veteran broadcaster Alisa Zee told the Free Press. Zee added that, “Specs the brand, the institution, will continue.”
In other news, a documentary about Specs Howard is in the works, produced by LeeZee and Mort Crimm Communications. For information and to view the teaser, go here.
