I-75 in Michigan to Close This Weekend – Here’s Where
Winter is coming, which usually means that construction season is dying down, but there’s always a bit of construction still going strong. That said, if you’re heading out on the road this weekend, be aware of a major traffic hurdle in Michigan.
The state is shutting down a large section of I-75 this weekend, according to MDOT. Expect southbound I-75 to be completely shut down between Square Lake and Eight Mile. The northbound closure will run from Eight Mile to Fourteen Mile.
The closures start at 11 p.m. Friday and will conclude at 5 a.m. Monday. Crews will start closing ramps at 9 p.m. Friday and begin lane closures at 10 p.m.
Closed ramps will encompass every ramp to northbound I-75 from the Davison Freeway to Twelve Mile. In addition, every ramp to southbound I-75 will close from M-59 to Nine Mile.
Northbound traffic will be sent west on Eight Mile to northbound Woodward, then eastbound Square Lake and then circle to northbound I-75. Southbound traffic will be go westbound Square Lake to southbound Woodward, then eastbound 8 Mile coming back to southbound I-75.
