Effortless Christmas Tree Disposal in Metro Detroit
Now that Christmas has come and gone, it’s time to think about how to dispose of your Christmas tree. If you have a real tree, recycling is a convenient option, depending on your local regulations. In many areas, Christmas tree pickup occurs curbside on your regular trash and recycling day, typically within the first two weeks of January.
But, before you kick it to the curb, make sure to strip that tree of all its embellishments. This includes lights, decorations, tinsel, and anything that didn’t come with the tree in the first place.

Meanwhile, Royal Oak conducts pickups on regular trash days during the initial two weeks of January. St. Clair Shores has no set schedule, collecting curbside as needed. Wayne provides curbside pickups on regular trash days through January, and Westland offers pickups on regular trash days during the first two weeks of January.
