Jason Kelce Recalls Disastrous First Date with Now Wife
First date stories can be pretty hilarious, especially when they go way wrong. What’s even funnier is when a horrible first date results in an eventual marriage. Hey, they say first impressions are everything, but maybe that’s just not the case. I can think of a few of my friends who couldn’t stand the guys who would become their eventual boyfriends when they first met. That said, it’s a good thing for Jason Kelce that his wife, Kylie, didn’t go by their disastrous first date when deciding whether to have a second date with him.
Jason Kelce and his former Philadelphia Eagles teammate Beau Allen recently opened up about that first date. They chatted on Jason’s “New Heights” podcast. Jason and Kylie actually met on Tinder 2015. Yeah, it’s not just for hookups. Jason has talked about the disastrous first date before, but now, Beau gives new details.
“The thing that people don’t know is, Kylie and Jason met on Tinder, so for a week or two leading up to you guys meeting, they were chit-chatting online and Kelce’s talking about this girl: ‘I really like this girl, I gotta make a good first impression. What am I going to say to her?'” Beau said. Then, Beau added that he remembers Jason talking about her before the big first date. “…Kelce’s like, ‘I think I’m going to meet up with this girl,’ and I heard all about her, I’m excited to meet her.”
But, things didn’t go very well. On that first date, Jason and Beau met Kylie at a bar, but Jason was already drunk by then. He actually fell asleep and Beau had to carry him home. That’s craziness. “That was physically one of the hardest things I’ve ever done,” Beau joked. Then, Beau said he was “slightly surprised” that Kylie went on a second date. But, he added that Jason is awesome and that she did the right thing.
