Detroit Red Wings Cut Ties with Al Sobotka
Longtime Red Wings Zamboni driver Al Sobotka is no longer with the team. Thus far, no details have surfaced about why Sobotka is no longer with the organization.
No details have been released on why they parted ways. Sobotka, 68, had been with the Wings since 1971.
Don McLean, a rep for Sobotka, sent an email to the Detroit Free Press with a statement from Sobotka, saying, “I loved my 51 years with the Detroit Red Wings, and would have been happy to stay 51 more.” Check back for more on this developing story.
