Dan Campbell Could Get Offered Another Coaching Job
You know how it is when you become a highly successful coach in sports. When you’re hot, you’re hot, and suddenly, you started getting offers that you never thought you’d see. It can be very flattering, but it doesn’t always mean the fit or time is right, when it comes to leaving your gig. Well, Dan Campbell could get offered another coaching job. But, really, why would he leave the Detroit Lions?
Seriously. Even if this offer comes through, I don’t see Campbell leaving the dynasty he’s creating in Detroit. But, it’s good to keep an eye on these things. So, read on for the scoop.
Dan Campbell Could Get Offered Another Coaching Job
Texas A&M let go of their head football coach, Jimbo Fisher, last weekend. They gave him a big buyout, as they wanted him friggin’ gone, and now, they’re looking for a new head coach. At Texas A&M, football is everything. So, finding a fantastic new coach is top priority. That’s where coach Campbell comes into play. Campbell graduated from Texas A&M in 1998. A new report from TheAthletic.com states that Campbell “epitomizes everything we suspect the school would want in a head coach.” They add that, “He has jumped into what was an abysmal franchise and has that city thinking there’s finally a Super Bowl in its future.” Of course, this year’s record is also stellar, as the Lions are 7-2 and in real playoff contention. They also sit atop the NFC North and are currently No. 2 in the NFC, only behind the Philadelphia Eagles.
So, will this happen? I’m thinking absolutely not. Also, I will personally get on my knees and pray and beg for Campbell to stay. TheAthletic.com agrees, stating, “Could A&M lure him home despite all that he has done and is doing in Detroit, getting all the buy-in he has gotten? It would seem doubtful that he’d walk away from all that.” Next up on the NFL schedule, the Lions play the Chicago Bears this Sunday.
