Paczki Beer Returns to Eastern Market Brewing Co.
Paczki is back at the Eastern Market Brewing Co. This year’s paczki-inspired beers come with two new flavors. According to the Eastern Market Brewing Co., this year, beer lovers can expect cherry and lemon flavors. Each is packed with real fruit and vanilla cream, just like a paczki.
Like last year, you can find both flavors in 4-packs of 16oz cans priced at $18. There is a limit of one case per flavor, with additional restrictions based on demand. Historically, the beer has sold out within 24 hours.
In the coming week, Pączki Beer will be introduced in a limited number of stores, featuring a mixed 4-pack containing two cans each of lemon and cherry flavors. This marks the brewery’s second year offering mixed 4-packs. Additionally, both flavors will be on tap at selected establishments in the Greater Detroit area.
Pick-up at the brewery’s taproom in Eastern Market during regular business hours from February 7 through Fat Tuesday, February 13. In addition to the beer release, Eastern Market Brewing Co. is hosting a Paczki Party on Saturday, February 10, in partnership with their Riopelle St. neighbors, Detroit City Distillery. Both flavors of Pączki Beer will be on draft, plus live music from the Kielbasa Kings Polka Band, a pączki-eating contest courtesy of Dooped Donuts, and pierogis made locally.
“Back in 2021, we stumbled on something special. We made a small, one-off batch of Pączki Beer and it sold out immediately. Then in 2022, we doubled our production, and again, sold out,” said Dayne Bartscht, Founder of Eastern Market Brewing Co. “Last year, we doubled production one more time, and moved to a pre-order process limiting how much each customer could buy. Sold out. We had no idea how much Detroiters loved Pączki but we sure do now. It’s wonderful.”

Gluten-Free Foodie Guide: 4 Metro Detroit Restaurants To Try
In recent years, the gluten-free diet has gained considerable popularity. A growing number of people have opted to eliminate gluten from their meals. Some people must adhere to a gluten-free diet due to medical conditions, such as celiac disease or gluten sensitivity. But there’s a significant portion of the population that has willingly chosen this dietary path for many reasons.
Some reasons for the alternative diet lifestyle.
One reason people choose to adopt this diet is for their health and well-being. Some believe that eliminating gluten can improve digestion, increase energy levels, and help with weight management. However, there’s a lack of scientific evidence supporting these claims. The perception that a gluten-free diet can contribute to a healthier lifestyle often influences people’s dietary choices.
Even without a formal medical diagnosis, some people believe that they are gluten intolerant. People who experience bloating, fatigue, or gastrointestinal distress may choose to eliminate gluten from their diets.
Celebrity influence, social media, and popular culture have also contributed to the normalization and popularity of the food alternative lifestyle. For some, adopting a gluten-free diet is a personal experiment. It is often driven by curiosity and the desire to explore alternative dietary approaches.
Whether driven by health aspirations, personal experimentation, or influenced by trends, this movement has become a significant dietary choice for many. The decision to adopt a gluten-free lifestyle can be due to a combination of factors ranging from health consciousness and self-perceived gluten intolerance to social and cultural influences.
