Detroit Crime – Driving With WHAT On The Roof?
Okay, we all have to admit that Detroit and the surrounding area has some interesting (weird) crime stories. Plenty of people doing donuts on the Lodge (is that still a thing?), but this is a new one.
Detroit Crime – Let’s Figure This Out
Here’s the original tweet of a person driving in Detroit with a light pole on the roof of their mini-van. No really.
Can we talk about this for a second? Couple of questions come to mind:
- What the hell happened: I’m assuming they simply hit a light pole and kept going. DUI? Stolen car? Not aware that a giant light pole landed on the roof? Maybe they simply have a tail light out and figured they could use this until they stop by AutoZone to get a replacement bulb.
- Did they get on the freeway with it: Still trying to figure out what road they’re on – and how far they got before stopping (probably can’t get into a drive-thru with it). Do you take it on I-75 and see what happens? I don’t think the aero drag would be too bad with the light pointing down off the back of the mini-van.
- Has anyone from Stellantis reached out: If you’ve got a hybrid Town & Country mini-van, you could plug in the light pole and your family would have plenty of light for camping, playing sports outside, etc. Good marketing tool ‘Chrysler Town & Country – now with new external lighting”. AND you’d have plenty of firewood if you decided to head up north.
- Could’ve been worse. Imagine if a line worker was up there fixing the light when they hit it and he’s riding on top of the mini-van with the light pole on it (sort of a Dr. Strangelove moment)
