The late guitarist Mick Ronson on how the song “Ziggy Stardust” kicked off not just a concept album, but a new band sound for David Bowie. OC:…more electric. :25
“’Ziggy Stardust’ started off in Haddon Hall where we used to all live. David came up with that song right there in the front room and we started to get this whole idea of a concept for an album together. It kind of turned out to be somewhat of an electric album because we’d just gotten some new people in the band and it was a pretty raw band. I brought a couple of people down from a band I was playing with down in Hull called The Rats and we started making things much more electric.”
