Background: Pat found the song — written by the future performing duo Lowen & Navarro — in a batch of demos her record company gave her. Pregnant at the time, she “loved the lyrics so much and it just touched something that I really wanted to sing about.”

“We used to get boxes of demos from songwriters. Chrysalis would just dump them at our house and ‘Here, you listen to them.’ Neil refused, he would never ever listen to outside stuff, but I was writing and stuff and thought, ‘Oh, I’ll listen to them.’ And it was about the tenth song in this huge box of stuff. And the guys had really not ever had anything placed before and it was just a fluke. And I just loved the lyrics so much. I was pregnant with Haley at the time and it just touched something that I really wanted to sing about.”
