“I think that’s the epitome of a power ballad. That’s how I see a ballad as being. We ended up using my first take on the vocals. I just went in and sang it, not even thinking about it, or considering that it would ever be the take to use. I’m really glad we saved it and didn’t go over it, ‘cause I spent the next two or three days trying to better that, and upon repeated listening, we stayed with the very first take.”
