“It took me six months to write ‘Two Tickets to Paradise.’ I’d spent a lot of time at a piano writing the song, and when it wasn’t really commercial enough for Columbia Records, Jimmy Lyon and I had to write ‘Baby Hold On.’ And then I think Doris Day was talking about suing, because of ‘Que Sera Sera.’ I didn’t really believe that it was [like it]. ‘Whatever will be, will be/The future is ours to see/[sings]Que sera sera.’ I mean I saw the movie and maybe subconsciously I wrote the song, but I wasn’t really thinking of Doris Day when I wrote ‘Baby hold on to me.’ I like my blondes a little younger.”
