Detroit Casinos Reopen Wednesday at 15% Capacity
Today (Aug. 5), Detroit casinos will begin reopening at 15% capacity, following new guidelines put in place by Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
It will mark the first time they’ve been open in more than four months.
MotorCity Casino Hotel and Greektown Casino-Hotel will both open to the general public today, while MGM Grand Detroit will open for invite-only VIP customers today and Thursday, followed by an opening for the general public Friday.
Aside from the 15% capacity rule, all casino visitors will be required to wear masks and take temperature checks upon arrival. Casino-goers are also not allowed to smoke or vape on the gaming floor. Bars on casino floors will be open, but visitors won’t be allowed to walk around the floor with a drink in their hand.
Other new rules include no poker or valet service, no self-serve buffet, fewer restaurants open and more.
If you’re ready to play the slots, mask up and head in!
