1966 Big Tank Corvette – Oh It’s Rare
What’s a big tank Corvette? Imagine a 1966 Corvette with a 36 gallon gas tank – oh they were real…and VERY rare. That’s what makes this barn find even more amazing:

As the name implies, a big-tank Corvette, also called a tanker, is simply a larger fuel tank option (RPO N03) to give the C2 Corvette more range for endurance racing. The option gave the Corvette a massive 36.5-gallon (that’s over 138 liters) tank, just what the endurance racers needed! In 1963, the tanks were fiberglass, but that was revised by 1966.
Now getting back to the car up for auction – how much could it go for? We found an auction of a fully completed 1966 Corvette “Big Tank” for $220,000 . But that was a couple of years ago, and the rare nature of this Corvette could drive it up even more. Feeling like a road trip to Tampa this weekend? Here’s more info and link to the auction:

The cars have been partially restored, but are still projects; additional motors, transmissions and rare parts will also go on the block…
The sale will be conducted at a rural property off of East Road in Pasco County, between County Line Road to the North and Denton Road to the South (signs will be posted). Attempts to list an address have been confusing.
All vehicles to be sold have valid titles
All BATF rules and regulations will apply to all firearm transfers
