Jason Momoa Slammed for Being Rude on Live TV
Jason Momoa attends the "Aquaman" photocall on December 11, 2023 in London, England.
Jason Momoa has left fans disappointed with his behavior during a recent television appearance, where he was seen being rude to a fellow guest. The Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom star was a guest on Monday night’s (December 11) episode of the British talk show The One Show. Momoa, 44, was joined by Irish actor James Nesbitt and celebrity chef Nigella Lawson. Momoa was there to talk about the release of his latest Aquaman installment later this month. But viewers noticed the actor’s bad manners towards Lawson. As Jason sat in between the two other guests, he was facing completely towards Nesbitt, turning his back towards the food writer.
During the episode, Momoa was asked about his interest in activism for the environment and rainforest. The See star said his dream job was to be a marine biologist. Born and raised in Hawaii, the Polynesian actor always felt “really connected” to nature and was a biology major while attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa. When he was offered his first acting gig in Baywatch, his life completely changed. His role as the DC superhero has been fun for him, as Momoa loved taking on a role that aligned so much with his previous passions. When Lawson adds commentary, Momoa clearly ignores her and continues to talk solely to Nesbitt. Watch the interaction below:
Oh no-a, Momoa
Fans were quick to take to X (formerly Twitter) to slam Momoa’s rude behavior. One user wrote: “Very rude body language by Jason Momoa, putting his back to Nigella.” Another wrote: “Jason Momoa sat with his back to Nigella the whole time on the sofa…so rude…Grace Jones slapped Russel Harty for that…quite right, too.” Meanwhile, one person wrote: “Well, this isn’t surprising. We all know how he treats women. Rude misogynistic a–hole.” One person criticized the actor, writing: “What a rude man Jason Momoa is. He may think he is an A lister but he is a z lister in real life.”
Jason Momoa Looking Scrumptious for the Past 20 Years
Jason Momoa has always been a sex symbol since his emergence in Hollywood. The Hawaiian native got his first big break at 20 years old as Jason Ioane on Baywatch: Hawaii (1999–2001), being much less buff, had no facial hair and rocked a short haircut.
In the next few years, he journeyed to the sci-fi realm portraying Ronon Dex on the Syfy series Stargate Atlantis (2005–2009). In this series, Momoa rocks a longer dreaded hairdo and dons a goatee with a beefier frame.
If you hadn’t been following the actor’s career yet, you sure did once you got a glimpse of him as Khal Drogo in the first two seasons of Game of Thrones (2011–2012). As the warrior and loyal husband of Daenerys Targaryan, Momoa gained quite the fandom in his portrayal of the Dothraki chieftain. His most recent TV acting roles include his leading roles as Declan Harp on the historical drama series Frontier (2016–2018), and as the beloved Baba Voss on Apple TV+’s See (2019–2022).
As popular as his role as Khal Drogo was, Momoa is also commonly called upon by his DC character, Aquaman. He has played the role of Arthur Curry since the eponymous 2018 film and in its upcoming 2023 sequel. As we earlier reported, Momoa spilled the beans that Ben Affleck’s Batman will be appearing in the sequel. He’s also starred in the 2021 sci-fi flick Dune alongside an all-star cast consisting of Timothée Chamalet, Zendaya, Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin.
Momoa shares two kids, Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha, 13, and Lola Iolani, 15, with his ex-wife, actress Lisa Bonet. The two began dating in 2005 after Momoa called off his engagement to Baywatch actress Simmone Jade Mackinnon. Momoa and Bonet married twelve years later in 2017 but announced their split in January 2022.
