“Robert, one of our managers, it really came from him. He met this lovely woman that he thought was a woman, in a nightclub. And he sort of had a few scotches too many and about five o’clock in the morning he noticed that she had a bit of stubble on her face. That’s all he told us, but I’m sure it went much further, probably the whole way, as far as it could possibly go. I don’t know. Who knows? But that’s where the story originated from. And I started to bash out these chords one day and it just sort of all married together.”
