Detroit Lions Fans Bring Team Pride to Wedding Vows
Talk about hardcore Detroit Lions fans – love this story. Leah and Zack Landis, a couple from Charlotte, North Carolina, worked the team into their vows. Leah humorously pledged to support Zack’s “deep, deep, deep—some might even call it an obsession—love for the Detroit Lions for the rest of our lives.” They were supposed to get married in Beech Mountain, NC – but Hurricane Helene had other ideas and they moved everything to Charlotte and got it done in less that three weeks.
What Did She Say To Her Detroit Lions Fan Husband?
Here’s the video (and transcript):
“I promise to support and cherish your deep, deep, deep — some might even call it obsession — love for the Detroit Lions for the rest of our lives. This includes encouraging you to take annual trips with the boys to the Lions games, and listening to your year-round Lions podcast on our 11-hour drive to New York to see my family. I promise to stand by you in the good times and the bad, a.k.a. any Lions losses that occur on Sundays, Mondays, or Thursdays throughout the season.”
5 more Ways To Profess Your Detroit Lions Love
1. The Grit Promise
“I vow to love you with the grit of Dan Campbell’s Lions—biting kneecaps if I have to (or after the kids go to sleep)”
2. The Hutch Hustle
“Like Aidan Hutchinson chasing down a QB, I’ll always hustle to keep this marriage alive…and maybe do a little dance when we win (just don’t break my leg)”
3. Fourth Down Faith
“I promise to believe in us the way the Lions believe in going for it on fourth down—boldly, recklessly, and with zero f’in regrets.”
4. Laporta Loyalty
“Just like Sam LaPorta always finds the ball, I’ll always find my way back to you…even if I have to hurdle a few Green Bay Packers along the way”
5. The Super Bowl Pact
“I vow to love you even if (when) the Lions win the Super Bowl before I figure out how to load the dishwasher”
