Michigan City Ranks In Top 3 Of Nation’s Most Stressed
Many people get hit with stress every now and then. From daily hassles, frustration with traffic, work burnout, and financial struggles, it’s perfectly normal to experience stress. Around 83% of Americans currently feel stressed about inflation, and 75% feel stressed about violence and crime, according to a recent survey from the American Psychological Association. But there are some places where people are far more stressed than others.
WalletHub, a financial company, compared 180 cities across 39 stress key metrics to determine where Americans are the most and least stressed. Some of the indicators include average hours worked per week, unemployment rates, divorce rates, and suicide rates, according to the website.
The study named Detroit as the second most stressed city in America. The study found that Detroit citizens don’t get enough sleep. In fact, they get the fewest hours of sleep per night, of any U.S. city, according to the study. Meanwhile, Detroit’s median credit scores came in at the 4th worst, behind Colorado Springs, San Diego, and Fort Worth.
Another Michigan city made it onto the “stress list.” Grand Rapids is number 143 most stressed city in America, according to the study. As far as the most stressed city in America, Cleveland, Ohio, tops the list. It ranked high for financial stress, number two for health and safety stress, and third for family stress.
Meanwhile, the least stressed city in America is South Burlington, Vermont. It’s at the bottom of the list for financial and family stress. It’s also in the bottom 10 for health and safety stress.

Michigan Is One Of The Angriest States In America
It’s completely normal to feel angry at some point in life. Some people are better at dealing with anger than others. Some people are just angrier than others. And it turns out, some states are angrier than others.
Michigan ranked number 10 on Best Life’s angriest states in America survey. They created an Anger Index that consisted of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s most recent Fatality Analysis Reporting System and info by Auto Insurance Center, to determine the amount of each state’s fatal accidents involving road rage.
Best Life also used the FBI’s hate crime data to analyze hate crimes per capita, which they say is often motivated by anger. Their results showed that, on average, America isn’t all that angry. But Michigan made the top 10 along with states from the West, Midwest, Northeast, and South.
Here are the 10 top angriest states in America.
