Here’s What’s Currently Allowed in Southern Michigan
Michigan is opening up, and while some things are still off the table, progress has certainly been made when it comes to re-opening the past few weeks.
Read on for a list of what we’re allowed to do in Southern Michigan right now, plus some specifics.
What’s Allowed for Entertainment, Parties and Camping:
Drive-in theaters
Hotels (but aren’t allowed to reopen gyms, pools, spas, dining, meeting rooms, entertainment facilities or facilities such as these)
Libraries and museums
Michigan state parks
Retail stores
Traveling to second homes throughout Michigan and out of state
Vacation rentals
Outdoor recreation
Private clubs
Restaurants, bars
Casinos on tribal land (not other casinos)
Public, outdoor swimming pools, but only at a 50% capacity. Indoor pools in Southern Michigan are closed.
Religious services
Social gatherings (Southern Michigan is limited to 10 people for indoor gatherings and 100 people for outdoor)
Venues are still closed in Southern Michigan, but Regions 6 and 8 are currently allowed to open concert spaces, race tracks, sports arenas, stadiums and other venues at 25% capacity or 500 people, the lesser of the two.
State forest campgrounds are open, and others may open June 22.
What’s Allowed for Services:
Garden stores, landscaping and lawn care
K-12 sports leagues and camps
Laundromats and dry cleaners
Bottle returns
Day and overnight camps for children
Hospital visits (but visitors must pass a health evaluation)
Nonessential medical and dental procedures
Personal care services
Pet groomers
Touring a real estate listing is allowed by appointment only and limited to four people. Open houses are not allowed.
Veterinary services
Addiction recovery meetings are limited to 10 people.
Auto dealerships and showrooms are open by appointment only.
Child care is open for children with parents who are essential workers or working a job allowed to resume non-remotely.
Funerals are allowed for up to 10 people.
What’s Allowed for Workforce:
Construction
Research labs
Manufacturing is allowed with added workplace safety procedures.
Offices are open but only for work that is unable to be done remotely.
