Bittersweet 2020 Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Induction
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has officially announced their 2020 class. Here’s what I love:
The Doobie Brothers.
This band has been around since 1970 and sold more than 40 million albums. Five decades of making music and giving us one amazing live show after another. This band has had a wild rock n roll ride. The Brothers were originally a trio that went by the name “Pud.” 13 musicians have called themselves a Doobie Brother at one time or another in the band’s history. They have won numerous awards including Grammies. the Doobie Brothers truly deserve to be in the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame and we congratulate them. Thanks for so many jams!
Here’s what I don’t love:
NO PAT BENATAR!?! WTH?!
I guess love really is a battlefield.
Now, I’m fired up. Pat Benatar has a four octave range. She won the Best Female Rock Vocal Performance Grammy FOUR YEARS IN A ROW. She’s put out 12 studio albums and has 15 Billboard Top 40 singles. Pat Benatar’s “Hit Me with Your Best Shot” was a defining song of the 80’s… not just for rock, but for the female population in general. Pat Benatar wasn’t about burning bras… she was too busy setting the whole world on fire.
Despite being a leader in on line fan voting for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Pat did not get “enough votes” according to RRH so no induction for you. Why do you have on line fan voting if you’re going to have it count for nothing? SMH
