Finding Strange Things In The House
“I have never seen this many items stuffed into a vent in my entire career in HVAC,” said Jason H. Jason works for Thorton and Grooms. We had them out because we were having issues (since we bought the house) with air not flowing into our guest bedroom.
We bought our home 6 years ago. We have always had climate control issues in our guest bedroom. I had a very reputable air duct cleaning company come out, clean the ducts and asked them to run cameras. I figured there had to be a blockage in the ductwork since next to NO air or heat were getting into the room. They told me, “Nope, all clear.”
We got a new AC/furnace unit… it didn’t help. We then decided to get a booster installed. Thank God, Jason H, said, “Let me take a look to see if there’s a blockage first.” He pulled ALL OF THESE items (see pic above) out of our ductwork that we had been told was clear. A child’s school medal marked 1999… books, stuffed animals, padlocks… everything but the kitchen sink. There were more items in my daughter’s bedroom vent.
Strange Things in the House – Now It Makes Sense
I’m leaving company names out because while I will 100% give a compliment where a compliment is due, the air duct cleaning company that told me “All clear,” does not deserve a compliment. I just don’t use them anymore. I have loved their work in the past, but this was ridiculous.
Did you find strange things in the house that you didn’t know were there when you bought it? BTW, the air is moving fine in both rooms now. Special thanks to Jason H of Thornton & Grooms. Jason, your attention to detail, work ethic, and honesty are tremendously appreciated. The company is lucky to have you.
