800 Pound Animal Escapes and Injures Two Zoo Workers
Talk about a rough day at the job. Two employees of a Rhode Island zoo suffered minor injuries when an 800-pound animal described as a “goat-antelope” escaped.
The takin, native to the eastern Himalayas, was not happy when a team of vets approached to perform a routine hoof procedure.
The animal charged the reinforced doors multiple times before breaking through onto zoo grounds. The animal was sedated and taken back to its enclosure.
