Petition To Sell Montana To Canada Goes Viral
The makers of a viral online petition have an unconventional plan to pay off the national debt – they want to sell the state of Montana to Canada for a cool $1 trillion dollars..
More than 8,000 people have already signed the petition at Change.org, which declares “We have too much debt and Montana is useless” and suggests that the U.S. “tell them it has beavers or something”.
It sounds like the idea is even a hit with Montanans, with one respondent saying ‘I’m here for it’ while another suggested throwing Wyoming into the deal as well.
Of course, with the national debt currently at more than $22 trillion, a Montana sale would only be a drop in the bucket.
