The Hole In The Brady Bunch Kitchen
Okay, it’s technically the Brady Bunch’s kitchen – but you get the idea. Someone went on twitter and asked “what the hell is that hole in the wall next to Alice’s door and the oven?”. I was curious too…you never saw Alice using it to cook with…maybe it’s:
- Dumbwaiter for upstairs?
- The secret place Sam The Butcher sneaks out of at night (come on – you know he wasn’t there just to drop off a porterhouse steak…stop with the jokes)
- 1970’s fern holder (hey, it is California)
- the well where they keep the politicians kid (sorry…Silence of the Lambs was on last night)
What’s the answer? Keep scrolling .
One of our VERY smart listeners (William Smith) pointed out that it’s an indoor grill (apparently they were big back then)
See…there’s where you clean the ashes from the fire. Or where Sam The Butcher keeps the spare key.
So now we gotta go buy the Brady Bunch house to try out the grill, right? It’s actually up for sale
So what do you get with this house? Let’s take the tour:
And where does this fall on the “coolest TV houses” list?
I’m just writing down my five favorites (top of mind – no particular order). But I am definitely considering houses I could throw a RAGING party in:
- Southfork Ranch from Dallas: I mean come on, could you do better than a place where JR tore it up?
- The Banks mansion in “Fresh Prince”: That place was HUGE…had a pool, butler and a family so cool when Aunt Viv became an entirely different person – no ONE noticed.
- Mr. Cunningham’s House from Happy Days: That’s TV history right there. Maybe their brother Chuck is still upstairs in his room?
- The Apartment in “ICarly”: How big was that apartment? Dad goes away to sea (Navy right?) and they leave her with Spencer…i’m pretty sure I could get away with stuff in that house when I was eight (Spencer was fun but not too bright)
- Robin Masters Estate on “Magnum P.I.”: Hawaii. Higgy Baby. Ferrari and plenty of beach to go jog on (not more, but somebody with abs).
