Macomb County Bar In St Clair Shores Closes Its Doors For Good
Came as a complete shock to many east side patrons on the announcement of Macomb County Kapones Sports Bar closing its doors on Harper Avenue. Just a few days’ notice on social media broke the sad news. No indication behind the decision to close it could be anyone’s guess. Local businesses have had a ruff ride over the past 2 years just trying to make ends meet.

Owner Khatina Breiss had a very heartfelt message to patrons on July 29 2023 which read.
I’d like to ask everyone to please take a moment to read/share this post. It’s been difficult forming the right words and drumming up the courage to post this. I am saddened, yet humbled to announce the closing of Kapones! This Tuesday night will be our last hoorah!! Around 5 pm the kitchen will be cooking everything we have left. Join us to make our last night a great one!
I have spent many years with so many of you. Through trials and tribulations to laughter and blessings. Many long nights, early mornings and so very many memories I will forever cherish. Birthdays, fundraisers, celebrations, music, holidays! Kapones has done it all and seen it all!!

Thank you to everyone who has visited, supported, hosted, and been employed by Kapones. I will be forever grateful to have been allowed to meet you, work alongside you or serve you a cold one on a hot summer day or fill your belly with a warm meal. From the daytime regulars to the last call crew, Kapones has been our home. And we have all become family.
You guys have been there for me at my most difficult times, and without this bar or you people, I don’t know how I would have gotten through it, for that I just want to say thank you But let’s not be sad, because it’s not goodbye, it’s see you later! Thank you to everyone who made all of these years possible, and I LOVE YOU ALL

Many WCSX/ WRIF events from pub crawl to Vegas giveaways, and famous bike nights. St Patrick’s Day parties to even live broadcasts from the bar itself. Many fun events over the years.
Before Kapones came to light east siders might remember the bar’s previous names that included, “The Painted Turtle,” and “Pepper Bottoms.” The final night was Tuesday, August 1st with Motor City Josh and an All-Star Jam to end the last night. Bar was elbow to elbow one last time leaving everyone with a good feeling. Friends got to say goodbye with lots of hugs and some tears.
Joe from St Clair Shores said, ” The news happened so fast and was hard to process so quickly. The Bar was tremendous.”
Jackie from Detroit said, ” Sad to see another local band venue go away. Been watching local bands here for so many years.”
What’s next for the building itself is anyone’s guess and too early to speculate. Always will Remember Kapones tag line. . . .

15 Famous Fictional Bars from TV History
Among the surest markers of success for a TV series is to offer an immersive, universally realistic experience for viewers. Delivering compelling characters and storylines are critical elements of this, but location ranks among the most essential means by which to build a centralized vibe or feel for a show. For generations, bars—whether considered penny universities, dives, upscale lounges, or clubs—have provided characters on television the space to laugh, cry, or simply get grounded.
To celebrate the legacy of famous fictional locales, Stacker took a look back at the past and picked 15 iconic TV bars. Selections come from a wide range of shows spanning genres and decades. These locations serve as ideal tools for character engagement and development, interesting scenarios, and alternate backdrops. Bars are a ripe setting for colorful background and secondary characters—not to mention the occasional outlandish situation.
Here are some of the most famous watering holes that play key roles in some very famous TV show narratives.
