Should This Mom Be Helpful On Father’s Day?
I love that we have now opened up Grounds for Divorce to you guys and your questions! I think it’s a nice break from hearing about what a dummy I am. Now, the question this morning, should this mom be helpful on Father’s Day and cover for her kids if they don’t get dad something? Let’s get into it and see what you think!
Should Mom Buy Gifts for the Kids to Give to Dad?
Here is the question that was sent to us via Facebook.
I HAVE TWO TEENAGERS WHO ALWAYS FORGET TO GET THEIR DAD SOMETHING FOR FATHERS DAY. THIS YEAR I HAVE DECIDED TO NOT COVER FOR THEM AND TEACH THEM A LESSON. SHOULD I CONTINUE TO BUY THINGS FOR THEM TO GIVE TO THEIR DAD OR LET THEM LEARN THIS LESSON.
So there is the question, should mom bail out her teenagers or let them learn a lesson. The comments we had were great, first here is the conversation from on air this morning.
LISTENER COMMENTS:
If they’re teenagers, they shouldn’t need reminding to either buy something or even make something (or do something extra special) for their dad!! I definitely would NOT cover for them at their age.

Absolutely not! It comes a time when they need to put on the big boy and big girl panties and be responsible. Are you gonna do it when they’re 30 years old?!
Pete
I would not cover for them. If I was the spouse I would buy something from her only and not the kids to really teach them a lesson.
Final Thoughts:
When it comes down to it, I think teaching them a lesson by not bailing them out will just cause more issues in the household. If I was mom I would take action and ask them what they are getting their dad. Though the thoughts in their head and make sure they get something. I cannot wait until my kids are old enough to get their own gifts, I wonder how I will react.
