Inkster Factoids:
- Inkster’s slogan is grow, discover, and unite.
- Inkster was founded in 1863 by Robert (Inktown) Inkster.
- In the 1920’s, it became a bedroom community for thousands who worked at the Ford River Rouge plant.
- Incorporated as a village in 1927, Inkster was one of the first cities in southeastern Michigan where African Americans could own property.
- Inkster covers about 6 miles of mostly residential community, with a population of about 26,000.
- Opened in May of 1998, Inkster Valley is an 18-hole, par 72 Championship Course that is considered the best kept secret in Wayne County!
